Massachusetts Institute of Technology Head Instructor: Master
Dan Chuang The MIT Sport Taekwondo Club was founded in the fall of 2000 by Master Dan Chuang, Christina Park, Master Chinedum Osuji and Conor Madigan. The club was founded with two purposes in mind: to provide continued support and training for those with WTF-style Taekwondo experience, and also to introduce and teach the martial art to those who had never tried it before. The club has exploded in popularity and competitive success since its founding. The MIT Sport Taekwondo Club earned the title of Overall Collegiate National Champions at the 2004 National Collegiate Taekwondo Association Championships in Bridgeport, CT, where Master Chuang was named the NCTA Coach of the year. The club also won the Ivy/Northeast Collegiate Taekwondo League Championship from 2002-2006, placing first in the standings for 4 consecutive seasons. The club has become a thriving community of over 60 teamates, athletes and friends. Notable alumni of the MIT Sport Taekwondo Club who have competed at the national and international lavel include 2004 Athens Olympian Chinedum Osuji and multiple US National and Collegiate National Team member Christina Park. MIT Sport Taekwondo is affiliated with its sister school, C.W. Taekwondo at Boston, where Master Chuang and Master Osuji also teach. |
